People At Multiple Locations Face UPI Transaction System Failure Due To Technical Glitch On New Year's Eve

UPI Transaction Issue: According to DownDetector.com, 60% of complainants reported problems with the app, 30% reported payment errors, and 10% reported problems with funds transfer.

Users of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) are enraged because the payment system's server appears to have had a problem. Taking to Twitter, some customers claimed that all platforms, including Google Pay and PhonePe, Paytm, and others that employ the UPI way of payment, are experiencing problems during transactions.

This comes as hundreds prepare for New Year's Eve celebrations and do transactions mostly through UPI.

According to DownDetector.com, 60% of complainants reported problems with the app, 30% reported payment errors, and 10% reported problems with funds transfer. The complaints came from big cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Agra, Delhi, and Chandigarh, based on the map.

The official Twitter handle of Google Pay India posted, "Hi there, this might be due to the heavy traffic experienced by the bank servers. Can you try again after some time? Alternatively, you can try changing your UPI ID and re-attempt the payment."

Twitter users are outraged as Google Pay and Paytm have technical difficulties.
