UP: Female municipal executive officer wields "chappal" to drive attackers pointing gun at her
In a display of courage, the EO who was not scared, took her slipper in her hand and forced the attackers to flee.
New Delhi: In an out and out bizarre incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat, the nephew of Khekada municipal council chairperson pointed a gun at a female officer, who however drove the attacker away by wielding her “chappal”.
The nephew and supporters of the chairperson Sangeeta Dhama allegedly misbehaved with a female executive officer named Niharika Chouhan and pointed gun at her threatening to kill her, over action against factories letting effluents in drainage.
In a display of courage, the EO who was not scared, took her slipper in her hand and forced the attackers to flee. A case has been registered against the attackers, the complainant being the EO and other councilors who were also attacked by the supporters of Dhama.
The incident took place at 2 pm in the municipal council.
Chouhan along with the councilors raided a number of factories over a complaint about effluent disposal in drains and issued notice to many on finding irregularities and slapped a fine on at least three factories.
Later in the day, chairperson Dhama along with her nephew Sanjeet and other supporters reached the council office and summoned all the councilors who complained against the factories. Her supporters reportedly misbehaved with the councilors and also attacked them. Thereafter they went to the EO’s office and pointed gun at her, to this the EO wielded her slipper at the attacker driving him out.
