Union Minister Gadkari Launches 7 National Highway Projects Worth Rs 5569 Crores In Aurangabad

Gadkari added that road transit in the city is critical for the growth of tourism centres in the Aurangabad district, which is a key tourist attraction in the state.

New Delhi: Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways launched seven national highway projects in the Aurangabad region on Sunday, totalling Rs 5569 crores, news agency ANI reported.

Gadkari added that road transit in the city is critical for the growth of tourism centres in the Aurangabad district, which is a key tourist attraction in the state.

The minister stated that the growth of the Aurangabad district, as well as transportation, will be accelerated by the completion of these national highway projects.

“Improving traffic in the city will help reduce the number of accidents and environmental pollution. The rural areas of the district will be easily accessible to the city,” he was quoted by ANI in its report.

Many ponds have been built on the Buldhana pattern in the construction of highways, according to Gadkari, and dirt and stones have been employed in the construction of roadways.

The soil was taken from the ponds developed in Adgaon-Gandheli, Valmi and Nakshatrawadi districts, as well as Teesgaon and Sajapur village areas, has gotten a twofold advantage, according to the Union Minister.

 “Deepening has made it possible to create ponds in each area," he added.

According to Gadkari, this will assist to alleviate the water situation by raising groundwater levels. He stated that the development of such ponds in the district has raised the district's water capacity to 14 lakh cubic metres.
