Uma Bharti To Skip Ram Temple ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ Due To Covid-19| Here’s The Tentative Guest List For the Ceremony

Preparations for the stone laying ceremony on August 5 is in full swing. But due to Covid 19 some leaders will skip the event. Here's a tentative list of all those who will attend the Bhoomi puja and those who will be absent.

New Delhi: With just a few more days left, preparations are in full swing for the ‘Bhoomi pujan’ ceremony of the upcoming Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on August 5. The construction of the Ram Temple will begin after the ceremony. Unfortunately, the pandemic is affecting the celebrations, and today BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharati who has been a huge supporter of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya announced that she will not be able to attend the ceremony. She also insisted that her name be removed from the list. She will however be present at the shore of Saryu river during the ceremony. The Home Minister Amit Shah is also likely to skip the ceremony as he tested positive coronavirus on Sunday and has been admitted to the hospital. After his results, he advised all those who came in his contact in the past few days to isolate themselves as a precautionary measure and to avoid the spread of the deadly Coronavirus disease to others. Other dignitaries who are expected to attend the grand ceremony which will be celebrated like Diwali include:
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi is supposed to lay the foundation stone of the temple.
  • Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veterans LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi are expected to attend the much-awaited ‘bhumi pujan’ of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya on August 5 via video conferencing.
  • RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat  Kalyan Singh
  • UP Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath
  • According to an article by The Print RSS general secretary, Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi has also been invited
The invitations are being co-ordinated by Champat Rai, the General Secretary of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which was set up by the Supreme Court after its landmark verdict in November last year. For the devotees who are unable to attend the event, there will be a live broadcast of the ceremony.
