Ukraine-Russia Conflict: Delhi, Mumbai Airport Revise Covid-19 Guidelines For Returnees

Several airlines including Air India are operating special flights to bring back Indian nationals back from Ukraine. 

New Delhi: As Indians return back from the war-torn Ukraine the international airports in Delhi and Mumbai have revised Covid-19 guidelines for the returnees. Air India's first evacuation flight from Mumbai has departed from Romania's capital Bucharest and is expected to touch down at around 8:00 pm tonight, sources informed ABP News. 

Menawhile second evacaution flight to Romania from New Delhi took off at 11:40 am and is expected to reach Bucharest at around 6:30 pm (Indian Standard Time), reports news agency ANI. 

 

Covid-19 guideline at Delhi Airport

Returnees arriving at Delhi airport who are neither vaccinated nor posses a Covid-19 negative report will be exempted from uploading documents on the Air Suvidha app before departure and will be allowed to enter the airport. 

“Indian nationals not vaccinated & neither possessing Covid-19 negative report will be exempted from uploading documents on Air Suvidha before departure on humanitarian grounds & can enter the airport,” read the travel advisory by Delhi Airport.

 

 

Travel guideline at Mumbai Airport

At the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Mumbai, a special corridor has been reserved for Indian nationals arriving from Ukraine. Passengers arriving at the CSMI Airport Mumbai are required to produce Covid-19 vaccination certificate or Covid-19 negative test report. However, if a passenger does not have both on arrival, they will be required to undergo RT-PCR test at the airport, cost of which will be borne by the airport. 

The passengers will be allowed to leave the airport once the test returns negative. If a passenger tests positive, they shall be managed as per the protocols laid down by the Government. 

“In light of the current crisis in Ukraine, the CSMIA is extending full support to the evacuation of the stranded Indian students who are arriving in Mumbai today by AI1944 at ETA 20:00 hours,” said a spokesperson at CSMIA as quoted by news agency ANI.
