U.S warns Pakistan, says 'ensure your territory isn't used to plant attacks in India'
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to United States as a part of his five-nation tour to Afghanistan, Qatar, Switzerland, US and Mexico turned out to be a nightmare for Pakistan, as United States’ outgoing President Obama has sent out a strong message to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during PM Modi's visit.
The U.S has asked Pakistan to ‘ensure’ that its territory is not used for planning attacks in India. This came after PM Narendra Modi said terrorism is being “incubated in India’s neighbourhood”.
Adding to President Obama’s speech, U.S State Department spokesperson Mark Toner said, “This is one of the steps that the US is encouraging Pakistan to do for the improvement of its relations with India”.
“We believe that Pakistan and India stand to benefit from practical cooperation and encourage direct dialogue aimed at increasing cooperation and reducing tensions,” he added.
