Triple Talaq: Delhi Woman Thrashed Mercilessly For 3 Days, Divorced In Front Of Parents

A 27-yr-old woman from Delhi has been brutally thrashed by her husband and given Triple Talaq. Police have registered the FIR but her husband is on the run.

It has been more than 3 years since the Supreme Court had declared Triple Talaq unconstitutional but women are still suffering the cruelty of instant divorce along with domestic violence and harassment. Several cases have been registered in various parts of the country by women regarding instant divorce and a brutal incident from Delhi's Gokulpuri has come to light where the victim has been badly thrashed after which her husband uttered Triple Talaq and left her. When Gulnaz's family members arrived at their home, her husband divorced her, uttering talaq three times then and there itself.  Gulnaz who is still recovering from the injuries spoke exclusively to ABP News and narrated the whole incident about how she has been suffering because of her husband and her in-laws. Gulnaz also said that her husband threatened to kill her if she did not do things according to him. He used to continuously demand dowry. She stayed silent all these years fearing her life and tolerated everything, Gulnaz said that after the heinous incident she somehow managed to inform her parents after which they rushed to meet her. Knowing her condition, her husband's family continuously hurled abuses at her and her husband kept beating her all these years. Gulnaz also said that since she couldn't give birth to children her husband started demanding dowry and when she refused he thrashed her mercilessly. Gulnaz said that she doesn't want anything from her in-laws, she just wants justice, her husband to be punished. Police have registered an FIR against her husband under multiple sections and are probing the case but her husband is on the run. Gulnaz's family has also accused that police did not take immediate actions and delayed the FIR.
