Ten-year-old NRI donates prize money for Indian Army's welfare
New Delhi: A ten year old NRI boy, Riddhiraj Kumar has become the talk of the day, by donating all of the prize money he won in an international test, to the Indian Army Welfare Fund.
Riddhiraj Kumar, who lives in Kuwait, had won 80 Kuwait Dinars (KD), which equals to Rs. 18000 , as prize money for the International Bench Mark Test for Improving Learning Award for Excellence conducted by the Australian Council for Education Research (ACER).
Riddhiraj, accompanied by his mother met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and handed him a cheque of Rs.18,000. With this act, the little boy won many hearts in India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Riddhiraj for his generosity and for his excellence in academics. PMO India shared a picture with the boy on twitter:
According to the information shared by the PMO, Riddhiraj is a Student of Indian Educational School, Kuwait. In the International Benchmark Test for Improving Learning Award for Excellence, he excelled both in Mathematics and Science, to win a total of 80 Kuwait Dinars. Riddhiraj has several innovative projects to his credit. His mother, Krupa Bhatt, is working on 'Every Child is Genius Project'. His mother too, is a generous lady. She is organising free seminars for the teachers in India, on identifying talents of the children. Prime Minister also congratulated her for the commitment showing in spreading innovative learning projects.
