Tribal Population In Jharkhand Is Decreasing: Himanta Biswa Sarma
In his election rallies in Jharkhand, he said that he didn't want to see the state facing the issue of illegal migrations as in Assam.
He has repeatedly said that there has been a surge in the Muslim population in Jharkhand, owing to the influx. Due to this, the tribal population in Jharkhand is decreasing.

"Not every Muslim is an infiltrator but how is the population of Muslims increasing every 5 years? Is a family giving birth to 10-12 children? If families are not giving birth to so many children, then definitely people are coming from outside. This is simple mathematics," Sarma said.
Sarma earlier claimed that the tribal population in the Santhal Pargana division in eastern Jharkhand has come down from 44% to 28% due to Bangladeshi infiltration.
