New Delhi: Punjab Police on Tuesday arrested a person named Manpreet Singh, who was detained from Uttarakhand last evening along with five others and brought two gangsters on production warrant from Bathinda and Ferozepur village in connection with singer-politician Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder case. He was produced before the court and has been sent to 5 days police remand, said Source. Manpreet, who hails from Dhaipei village, also known as Manna Dhaipei was among five persons rounded up from Dehradun. According to the police sources, Manpreet had provided logistic support to the attackers.

Sidhu Moose Wala, a popular musician from Punjab, was killed by gunfire on Sunday evening in the Mansa region of the province of Punjab. The murder of the singer seems to have been the result of a conflict between two or more competing gangs, the notorious criminal Lawrence Bishnoi is also a suspect in the case.

Hours after the incident, Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the murder in a Facebook post. Goldy Brar is a close aide of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, who is presently lodged in Tihar Jail.

The family of the 28 years old singer wanted his last rituals to take place on the ancestral farmland in the Moosa village in the Mansa region.

The deceased corpse of Moose Wala was transported to his residence under tight security precautions. The doors of his ancestral home were locked by the police, and the only people who were permitted to enter were members of his immediate family and close friends. A large crowd had gathered outside the home.

During this time, a large number of people came to pay their respects to Moosewala at his home in Mansa. These mourners included villagers, prominent singers such as Gurdas Mann, and political leaders. Among those in attendance were Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and MLA Sukhjinder Randhawa.
