Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna hits out at BJP over rise in unemployment rate

“Though the share markets have gone up with the excitement that BJP government has come back at centre, but the graph unemployment has also gone up and the graph of GDP has fallen at a large scale and this is not a good sign”.

New Delhi: After standing shoulder to shoulder with ally and showing full support during the entire course of Lok Sabha elections, Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna on Monday took a jibe at Bharatiya Janta Party over the increase in unemployment rate in the country as per recent data. “The picture has been painted of the new government’s initiating their work in Delhi and the picture has started getting black spots of challenges” the article read. “The entire cloud has burst, therefore it has become difficult to understand where to put the stitch” it read. It further said that “Though the share markets have gone up with the excitement that BJP government has come back at centre, but the graph unemployment has also gone up and the graph of GDP has fallen at a large scale and this is not a good sign”. “It is not sufficient to hold debates on what to do with increasing unemployment; instead one will have to act on the same”. It further said that the fire of unemployment has risen in the country and as per the statistics of national sample survey, unemployment rose to 6.1 percent in 2017-18. This is the highest figure in last 45 years.  Even the Central Labour Ministry has confirmed the same, even though the figures have been released by the government and not by us. But, the government says “It is not our fault that unemployment is rising, and BJP didn’t create the problem of unemployment in last 5 years, this was said Mr Nitin Gadkari and we agree with his thinking, but they had promised to provide us with 2crore jobs every year, and as per that at least 10 crore jobs should have been created in last 5 years.” Confirming unemployment rate projected in a pre-election leaked report, the government Friday said joblessness in the country was 6.1 per cent of total labour force during 2017-18, the highest in 45 years.
