BJP begins campaign for Lok Sabha polls; seeks 10 crore suggestions from people for manifesto
A month-long exercise will be launched to seek over 10 crore suggestions from people across the country which will be a basis of the party's "sankalp patra" (manifesto).
New Delhi: BJP Chief Amit Shah and Home Minister Rajnath Singh today officially kick-started the party’s campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha election today, with an exercise named exercise named 'Bharat ke mann ki baat, Modi ke sath".
The party has sought the suggestions of people across the country for framing its manifesto of 2019 polls. The manifesto will incorporate suggestions from 10 crore people across the country.
The part dispatched carts and suggestion boxes to different states.
Along with this, the party also launched a call centre number and an e-mail id, where the common man can send his suggestions.
On the occasion, Shah along with home minister Rajnath Singh held a press conference.
On being asked whether legislation on Ram Temple issue will be incorporated in the manifesto, BJP chief Amit Shah said that the points to be included in the manifesto have not been finalised yet. It will be finalised once the suggestions from the people are received.
At the launch of Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat in Delhi, Shah said : "Before 2014, for over 30 years, there were coalition govts. During this time, about 10 crore families used to think whither the government can deliver? Amid such doubts,2014 polls were held and people voted for BJP and government led by Modi ji with majority was formed". The party's media head and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni, in a statement on Saturday, said BJP president Amit Shah and senior leader Rajnath Singh, who is the head of the party's manifesto committee for the polls, will launch the programme Sunday. "We are starting this programme with the belief that it will prove to be the biggest cooperative exercise to draw outlines for a country's future," Baluni said, adding the BJP will reach out to people across the country through various means to seek their views. People's aspirations and expectations have been a key basis of the Modi government's works and it has been able to improve the living standard of crores of families, he claimed adding that it also succeeded in enhancing India's image globally.BJP and allies seek people's support in 2019.
