'See A Ray Of Hope': Robert Vadra After Haryana Govt Affidavit, 'No Clean Chit Yet' Says Official

After the Haryana government submitted to the Punjab and Haryana HC that no violation of rules or regulations was found in the DLF land deal, Robert Vadra said, 'I am happy to see a ray of hope'.

After the Haryana government submitted to the Punjab and Haryana High Court that no violation of rules or regulations was found in the transfer of land by Skylight Hospitality to realty major DLF, businessman Robert Vadra said, “I am happy to see a ray of hope in the report given by the Haryana government to the court clearing that there were no wrong doings in my business transactions.”

In a Facebook post Vadra said, “It’s been many years, of dealing with false accusations and losing many work relations and being battered by government’s incorrect informations and media propaganda carrying it. I do hope this does not happen to anyone else… a vindictive method of politics is toxic for the country”.

See A Ray Of Hope': Robert Vadra After Haryana Govt Affidavit, 'No Clean Chit Yet' Says Official

Vadra launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and said that false accusations from the BJP never stopped and agencies raided his companies even breaking walls assuming things were hidden in them

“I had always and have always worked honestly and evolved with hard work and times…But false accusations from the BJP never stopped. Their agencies raided my companies even breaking walls assuming things were hidden in them! They questioned me for days, sent 100’s of notices, made illegal tax demands, else they would attach my assets and properties, took away over 20,000 documents and continue to send tax notice after notice since more than a decade…I continue to cooperate fully and provide all the information asked of me even though I know the truth,” Vadra wrote.

Haryana CM's OSD Jawahar Yadav on Friday said that Robert Vadra has not yet got a clean chit in the land scam case. He also said that the probe is on and the Congress is spreading false rumours.

“Robert Vadra hasn't yet got a clean chit in the land scam case. The investigation agency is doing its work. The probe is on.  Congress is spreading false rumours. We will let you know about the result after the investigation is concluded,” Jawahar Yadav said as quoted by ANI. Speaking on the clean chit to former Haryana Chief Minister OP Chautala, Yadav said, “We are not saying that the scam did not take place. But we didn't find the involvement of former CM (OP Chautala) in the scam”.

No violation of rules or regulations was found in the transfer of land by businessman Robert Vadra's Skylight Hospitality to realty major DLF, the Haryana government has told the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The investigation was linked to an FIR registered against former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, and some others in September 2018 in Gurugram.

In an affidavit placed before the court on Wednesday, the government said, "It was reported by Tehsildar, Manesar, Gurugram that M/s Skylight Hospitality sold 3.5-acre land to M/s DLF Universal Limited on September 18, 2012, and no regulation/rules have been violated in the said transaction".

However, the Haryana Police is probing the record of financial transactions that had taken place during the said deal. "A new SIT has been constituted on 22.03.2023 comprising DCP, two ACPs, one Inspector and one ASI for further investigation," states the affidavit. The BJP had alleged irregularities in the land deals during the then Congress regime in Haryana and it became a major poll issue during the 2014 elections.

The affidavit states that an FIR was registered against Hooda and some other accused persons in September 2018 under various provisions of the IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act at police station Kherki Daula, Gurugram. The FIR was registered on the complaint of Surinder Sharma, a resident of Nuh, in which he alleged irregularities in the land deals. The Congress party, Hooda and Vadra have always denied any wrongdoing.

"As per report received from Tehsildar, Wazirabad, Gurugram, it was clearly stated that the land in question has not been found in the name of M/s DLF Universal Limited and the said land still exists in the name of HSVP/HSIIDC, Haryana," the affidavit said. The complainant in the September 2018 FIR had then also alleged that 350 acres of land was allotted to DLF at Wazirabad in Gurugram in violation of rules.
