Security Review Of All People Under Threat Will Be Undertaken: J&K Police
After assasination of Qadiri, police have said that not only will they start a security review but all those people who are facing militant threat of any type will be secured.
Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu and Kashmir has started a security review of all the people whose names have figured in an alleged "hit list" of a militant organisation after the assassination of Lawyer Babar Qadiri in Srinagar. The "hit list' was circulated in the social media earlier this month forcing police to lodge a FIR but no further action was taken.
After assasination of Qadiri, police have said that not only will they start a security review but all those people who are facing militant threat of any type will be secured. Police have cautioned all persons and have said that anybody who faces threat in any form should not take it lightly and immediately get in touch with the local police for protection.

"Yes there was a list issued by TRF (The Resistance Front) which included names of some people working for Army, police, some advocates, journalists and government officials and all these people were approached by the local police stations and provided necessary cover, IG Kashmir Vijay Kumar revealed.
According to the hit list political workers, panches, sarpanches, teachers, tailors, government employees and other civilians, who, the militant group believes, work for security forces were categorized as category A+ A B B+ in the same pattern as security forces make for wanted militants.
According to senior police official dealing with counter insurgency, the hit list was issued on social media by accounts linked with the militant outfit The Resistance Front (TRF), but the force is yet to ascertain whether it was released by the insurgent group or by other mischievous elements seeking to settle personal rivalries.
IG Vijay Kumar says that TRF is a virtual terror organisation, which works as a front for Lashkar-e-Taiba. It takes responsibility for the attacks carried out by the Lashkar and in fact Lashkar is behind all the attacks, whether it is the killing of Block Development councillor Bupinder Singh in Budgam or attack in Srinagar.
After the abrogation of article 370, there was a lull in the militant activities for the past 12 months but now militants have again regrouped and started targeted killings. The militants have started acquiring lighter weapons like M4 rifles, latest Norinko EMEI Type 97 NSR rifles which make target killing easier.
" Militants belonging to Jaish have used M4 rifle in the hit and run case at Chadoora in Budgam on Thursday in which a CRPF officer was killed. Militants had even decamped with AK47 of the officer.
"Yes, we have recovered empty cartridges of M$ rifle at the spot, but weapons dont make any difference,” said IG Vijay Kumar. “War is fought from the mind and determination and we are pretty strong in both,” he said.
