J&K: 2 Civilians Injured After Shell Explodes Near Encounter Site In Anantnag; Two Lashkar Militants Killed
As the people were trying to clear the rubble of the houses, an explosion took place at the injuring two civilians. Both the injured were taken to hospital for treatment.
Srinagar: Two civilians were injured after an explosive device went off near encounter site in Srihama area of Anantnag after the encounter ended. People had assembled at the encounter spot, which had left two houses destroyed and locals were clearing the debris.
According to locals, as the people were trying to clear the rubble of the houses, an explosion took place at the injuring two civilians. Both the injured were taken to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case and started investigation into the issue.
Earlier in a night long operation, two militants of Lashkar e Toiba were killed in the gunfight, and arms and ammunitions including one AK47 and a snatched INSAS rifle were recovered from the killed militants. However the identification of both slain militants is yet to be ascertained.
