Santosh Gangwar Blames ‘Lack Of Qualified People’ For Unemployment; Priyanka Gandhi Hits Out

Gangwar said in a conference that there are enough jobs in the country but the job-seekers are not qualified.

New Delhi:Minister of State for Labour and Employment on Sunday courted a huge controversy with his remarks on unemployment, prompting a sharp reaction from the Congress party. Gangwar said that there are enough jobs in the country but the job-seekers are not qualified. The statement which comes amid the din over economic slowdown in the country, has not gone down well with the Congress party. Party’s general secretary Priyanka Gandhi slammed Gangwar by saying that the jobs that were there have been lost due to economic recession. Gangwar said during a press conference that there isn’t a lack of employment in the country. Those who come to recruit in North India complain that they get few people who have the quality for the position they look to fill. “Desh mein rozgaar ki kami nahi hai. Humare Uttar Bharat mein jo recruitment karne aate hain is baat ka sawaal karte hain ki jis padd (position) ke liye hum rakh rahe hain uski quality ka vyakti humein kum milta hai." Attacking Gangwar over his statement, Priyanka Gandhi said that government cannot escape from their responsibilities by insulting North Indians . "Modi government is now more than 5 years old. Jobs have not been created. The jobs that were there have been lost due to the economic recession brought by the government. Youths are counting on the government to do something good,"Priyanka tweeted. "You want to escape by insulting the North Indians. It will not work," she said.
