Sansad TV Goes LIVE: PM Modi Says Another Chapter In Our Parliament System | Key Highlights
Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV have been merged to create a new TV channel which has been named 'Sansad TV'.
New Delhi: The much-awaited Sansad TV, which is a merger of Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV, is now LIVE! The new government channel went on air after Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla launched it in a joint inauguration ceremony at the Main Committee Room in Parliament House Annexe.

The decision to merge Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV was taken in February, and the CEO of Sansad TV was appointed in March.
Key Highlights Of Sansad TV Launch Ceremony:
1. While speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Sansad TV, PM Modi said that the launch of the new channel on International Democracy Day makes it more relevant.
2. "Today is International Day of Democracy, the launch of 'Sansad TV' becomes more relevant. When it comes to democracy, India's responsibility increases. India is the mother of democracy. For us, democracy is not just a constitutional structure, but a spirit," PM Modi said.
3. Role of media has also changed over the years. It is bringing revolution, which is why it becomes important to transform in line with modern technology. I have been told that 'Sansad TV' will be on OTT platforms, social media and will have its app as well," the Prime Minister added.
4. He further pointed out that Parliament is not only about politics, it is about policy too, actually it is more about policy. "The launch of Sansad TV adds another important chapter in our parliamentary system," he said.
5. "Parliament is the heart of democracy, media is "eyes and ears". We have to ensure their health," Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu said during the launch ceremony.
