Role Of Women In Changing India Expanding: PM Modi On NCW Foundation Day
National Commission for Women’s foundation day: The National Commission for Women (NCW) foundation day programme was addressed by PM Modi via videoconferencing.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed 30th National Commission for Women (NCW) Foundation Day programme on January 31 via videoconferencing and said that in this era the role of women is expanding and is the need of the hour.
"Today the role of women in changing India is continuously expanding. Therefore, the expansion of the role of the National Commission for Women is also the need of the hour," added PM.
Aimed at celebrating the achievements of women in different fields, the theme of the programme was "She The Change Maker".
Beginning of his address, the PM congratulated the NCW on completing 30 years of its establishment. "The milestone of 30 years, whether in the life of an individual or of an organization, is very important. This is the time for new responsibilities, for moving ahead with new energy," he said.
"Old-fashioned people consider women's skills to be household chores. It is necessary to change this thinking. That's what Make in India is doing - connecting the potential of women with the development of the country: PM Modi at NCW Foundation Day programme".
"All Commission for Women across the nation need to widen their horizons and give a new direction to the women across the country," he further said.
In his speech, PM also emphasised on the mantra "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas".
"Today, the country is working with the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas. The nation will reach the target of all-round development when everyone gets equal access to every opportunity," he said.

The State Commissions for Women, Department of Women and Child Development in State Governments, University and College teaching faculty and students, voluntary organisations, women entrepreneurs, and business associations participated in the event.
The Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani was present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Two more panel discussions titled “Women in Decision Making” and “Digital Empowerment of Women’ were held at the event.
NCW, which was established in January 1992 as a statutory body under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990, was set up to review the constitutional and legal safeguards for women, recommend remedial legislative measures, work with redressal, or complaints, and prompt the government on policy matters influencing women.
