Republic Day Violence: Priyanka Gandhi Leaves For Rampur To Meet Family Of Navreet Singh Who Died During Tractor Rally

Navreet Singh died during the Republic day violence when his tractor overturned after trying to break the police barricading at Delhi.

Congress UP General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has left for Rampur to meet the family of Navreet Singh, the young farmer who died when a tractor overturned on him during the Republic Day violence. Apart from Priyanka Gandhi, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Chaudhary will also visit the family members of the deceased at Rampur. Today is the final Ardas program of Navrit Singh. Priyanka Gandhi will take part in this program and console the kins.

After the tractor rally on Republic Day, the Delhi Police, in which it was seen that the tractor turns over in order to break the police barricade close to the ITO. Navrita Singh was buried below this tractor. According to the postmortem report, Navrita Singh died due to the accident.

Along with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, an extended convoy of vehicles is also following her to show support. Uttar Pradesh Congress President Lallu Singh is also present in this convoy. 

A tractor rally was organised on January 26 by the farmers to protest against the newly formed farm laws. The agitation turned violent after a group of farmers refused to follow the designated path and started moving towards the Red Fort. In a bid to control the agitation, Delhi Police resorted to barricading the ITO area. Farmers broke the barricades and ran towards Lal Quila to hoist a Sikh flag. 124 people have been booked till today for the violence.

PM Modi also condemned the agitation during his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat'.
