Ram Temple row: Akhada Parishad to boycott VHP's Dharma Sansad; says issue being politicised

The Akhil Bhatariya Akhada Parishad has said that it will boycott the two-day Dharma Sansad organised by the VHP starting from Khumbh in Prayagraj.

Ram Temple row: The Akhil Bhatariya Akhada Parishad has said that it will boycott the two-day Dharma Sansad organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) starting from Khumbh in Prayagraj today. Speaking to ABP News, Akhada Parishad chief Narendra Giri alleges that the Ram Temple issue is being politicised by many and thus they have decided not to be a part of the Dharma Sansad. The Sansad is expected to have more than 5,000 seers and saints who will deliberate upon the methods to accelerate the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Even Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat is said to attend the event. Speaking about the issue, Mahant Dharmadas said that it is unconstitutional to say that construction of Ram Mandir will start from February 21. “It is sad when a Dharma Sansad says such unconstitutional things and it should rather be called anti-Sansad. It is not right to make any such announcement which is against the Honourable Supreme Court of India and creates a dispute in public.” Dharmadas also said that no positive outcome is expected from this Dharma Sansad. When the case is still in Supreme Court, they don’t have the right to comment or take any actions against it, he added. He also requested Adityanath and Bhagwat to deliver their speeches in constitutional limits. Despite Supreme Court’s restriction on immediate construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Param Dharam Sansad on Wednesday made a massive announcement that the construction of the temple will begin from February 21. The religious group says that it respects the Supreme Court and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but also believes that the time has come for the construction of the temple. Headed by Shankacharya Swaroopannand Saraswati, the Sansad also added that they will carry the four stones and go to Ayodhya to lay the foundation of the temple and initiate its construction. Speaking to news agency ANI, Saraswati said the 'dharam sansad', after a three-day meeting here decided that the foundation stone of the temple will be laid on February 21.
