'Didn't Let LK Advani Speak How Can...': Rakesh Tikait Alleges Kangana's Farm Laws Remark Part Of BJP's 'Agenda'
Rakesh Tikait said that the BJP was allowing such remarks to determine the public opinion. He also warned the BJP against bringing back the three farm laws.
Bharatiya Kisan Union spokesperson Rakesh Tikait on Wednesday came down heavily at the Bharatiya Janata Party as he reacted to BJP MP Kangana Ranaut's remark on reviving the scrapped farm laws. The farmers' leader said that the BJP is "very clever" as he accused the party of deliberately making its MPs make such statements to gauge the mood and reaction of the public over an issue.
He stressed that the BJP was allowing this to determine the public opinion as part of its "agenda" and warned the BJP against bringing back the three farm laws.
During the debate show 'Sidha Sawaal' on ABP News, Rakesh Tikait said: "Look, their (BJP) MPs are giving statements. It is possible that they are looking for public opinion in them. However, no government will have the courage to bring back the law in which 750 farmers were martyred. If the government does this, then every child of the country is ready for the movement against it, but they definitely do this to know the opinion of the public." Tikait was responding to a question related to farm laws and Kangana Ranaut's remark.

Tikait further claimed that the leaders within the government as well as those in the opposition were both against the farm laws even though they might not voice their opinions publicly.
"Whether it is people in power or outsiders, they may not say it on camera but they are against this law. Farmer organizations are strong in the country. Wherever they are protesting, they are working in the fields... they are hurt by such statements and they are ready for them," he said.
Accusing the BJP allowing its MPs to make such statements and then distancing itself as part of its "agenda", Tikait said that a party in which veteran leaders such as LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi are not permitted to speak, how could an MP go ahead and make such remarks.
"BJP is a very clever party. They get one person to make a statement and then called it personal. In a party where no minister has the right to speak, where Lal Krishna Advani (96) and Murli Manohar Joshi (90) do not have the right to go on TV and speak, the MPs of that party are giving baseless statements. All this is the agenda of BJP, under which statements are made for public opinion," he alleged.
He was then asked as to why a party would make such a move especially with Haryana Assembly elections just around the corner. To this, the farmers' leader said that the party has already lost elections in Haryana and its "foot is already on the axe".
