Rajya Sabha Polls: Mallikarjun Kharge Appointed Observer For Maharashtra By Congress
Rajya Sabha Election 2022: Pawan Kumar Bansal and TS Singh Deo have been appointed as poll observers for Rajasthan while Bhupesh Baghel and Rajiv Shukla have been appointed for Haryana by Congress.
New Delhi: For the upcoming biennial Rajya Sabha elections, the Congress party has appointed Mallikarjun Kharge as observer for Maharashtra, reported news agency ANI. For Rajasthan, the party has appointed Pawan Kumar Bansal and TS Singh Deo as poll observers while Bhupesh Baghel and Rajiv Shukla will be the poll observers from the Congress party for Haryana.
The election for Rajya Sabha is slated to take place on June 10 for six seats in Maharashtra, four each in Rajasthan and Karnataka, and two in Haryana.

Forty one candidates who were nominated for Rajya Sabha elections across party lines from 11 states have already been elected unopposed on Friday.
Out of all the candidates elected unopposed, 14 belong to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), four each are from Congress and Yuvajana Shramika Rythu (YSR) Congress. Three elected candidates each are from Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) while two each are from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).
Independent candidate Kapil Sibal has also been elected unopposed to the Upper House of the Parliament along with one candidate each from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Janata Dal United (JDU), Samajwadi Party (SP) and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD).
All the 11 candidates in Uttar Pradesh, six in Tamil Nadu, five in Bihar, four in Andhra Pradesh, three each in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, two each in Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Telangana and Jharkhand and one candidate in Uttarakhand won without a contest.
