Rajnath Singh UK Visit: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to embark upon a two-day visit to the UK from Monday. With this visit, Singh will become the first ever Defence Minister to visit UK in 22 years. The visit is being seen as significant to the bilateral partnership in the sphere of defence and security.


During his visit, Singh is expected to call on UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and hold a meeting with Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs David Cameron, as reported by news agency ANI.






The Defence Minister will be accompanied by a high-level Ministry of Defence delegation, comprising senior officials from DRDO, Service Headquarters, the Department of Defence, and the Department of Defence Production.






According to the Ministry of Defence, during his visit, the Defence Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with his UK counterpart, Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps. Both leaders are expected to discuss a wide range of issues pertaining to defence, security, and industrial cooperation.


The Defence Minister will also have an interaction with the CEOs and industry leaders of the UK Defence Industry and meet with the Indian community there, the Defence Ministry said.
