Raigad,Maharashtra: Woman poisons food being served at her relative's party; 4 killed, 120 sick

This extreme step taken by the accused was a result of family dispute. As per the woman, she committed the crime as she was “constantly being humiliated for her dark colored skin”.

Raigad, Maharashtra: In a horrifying incident, a woman mixed pesticide at a party hosted by her relatives in Mahad village, Raigad, which killed 4 people and left 120 sick. This extreme step taken by the accused was a result of family dispute. As per the woman, she committed the crime as she was “constantly being humiliated for her dark colored skin”. The incident happened at woman’s relate Subhash Mane’s house, where a party was taking place. While serving the dinner, the accused took a bucket, half-filled with pesticide and added dal to it. She then served the dal with poison to her sister-in-law and to her kids, but she failed to serve the same to her husband and mother-in-law as they had taken their meal. After the dinner, people started complaining of stomach pain, vomiting and were rushed to hospital. As per reports, the pesticide was the poison used to kill snakes. Few patients are still in critical state. Investigation is still in process.
