Punjab: Mechanic Realises His Dream To Fly, Makes Paraglider From Bike Parts

Harpreet, a cycle mechanic in the Faridkot district of Punjab made a paramotor glider after three years of hard work. He invested Rs 2.5 lakh and made a glider by installing a motorcycle engine.

A cycle mechanic in the Faridkot district of Punjab made a paramotor glider after three years of hard work. He invested Rs 2.5 lakh and made a glider by installing a motorcycle engine.

Harpreet, who used to repair cycles had a dream of becoming a pilot since childhood. He lost his father at a very early age and faced financial constraints. Despite all the odds, he did not lose hope. He managed to build a paramotor glider after taking training from Assam Army. He has been hired by Indian Flying Force, an adventure sports company in Puducherry as a para motor glider.

However, after making the motor glider, Harpreet has set a higher aim for himself. He is looking to fulfill his dream of making a two-seater paramotor glider for the people of his area and making every small and big rich and poor travel in the sky. Harpreet also made an appeal to the youth and he has tried to encourage people and tried to make them believe that they can also make their dreams come true and they can also be successful.

Whenever Harpreet comes back to his home on leave, he tells the poor children of his area about the ship and how it is made so that the children feel motivated to do something in life.  Harpreet said that he made the paramotor glider by collecting the parts one by one and he has attached a bicycle handle to it. There are also wooden fans in the paramotor glider.

Harpreet also said that he wants to start this paramotor glider in his own area and he has a dream of providing the facility to those who go out to sit in it in the city and he wants to take people for a ride in the sky at a very low cost. He also said that if the government supports him, then he can make a big-level paramotor glider and provide convenience to the people.
