New Delhi: In a sweet gesture, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi stopped his vehicle to wish a newly married couple in a Bathinda. The CM was on a visit to the area along with deputy chief minister Sukhjinder Singh when he spotted the young couple.
He immediately asked the vehicle to be stopped and met the couple to wish them well.

The 26-second video uploaded by the Punjab government on their Twitter page shows Channi hugging the groom and giving ‘shagun’ to the bride.
The tweet ‘During his visit to Bathinda today, Chief Minister @CHARANJITCHANNI spotted a newly married couple at village Mandi Kalan and suddenly stopped his vehicle to convey his best wishes.’
The CM was on a visit to Katar Singhwala and Nabispura villages, located in the outskirts of Bathinda’s outskirts which is the cotton-growing belt of Punjab, to meet farmers who are facing losses due to pink bollworm pest. He assured the farmers of assistance and free pesticide to fight the pest.
Channi has been spotted interacting with the public earlier too such as joining university students during an event in Kapurthala while performing bhangra. The video of Channi dancing to the song, "Nachde Punjabi Kinne Sohne Lagde" later went viral on social media
