Questioning the government over the number of slain terrorists, mother of martyr Ram Vakeel said she will not believe the claims of the air strike until and unless the dead bodies of the killed terrorists are shown. The 80-year-old lady said how else would she know what has happened.
While the entire nation is proud of the sacrifice made by ram Vakeel, his family members are finding it hard to believe that a counter attack has been successful.
On the claims by BJP leaders about the number of casualties in the counter-terrorism operation in Balakot, Ram Vakeel’s sister also said: “As we had seen the bodies of our martyred soldiers in Pulwama attack, likewise government should show the bodies of the dead terrorists in Balakot strike. Unless we see their bodies, we are not going to believe anything.”
She said that the government should provide proof of the air strike, as Pakistan is claiming that they have suffered no damage.
“How can we believe the tall claims, until and unless we are shown the proofs of the air strike, or of the dead terrorists,” she said.
BJP chief Amit Shah recently said 250 terrorists were killed in the IAF strike in Pakistan. Union Agriculture Minister today said, as many as 400 terrorist were killed in the operation. The discrepancies in statements of BJP leaders and their failure to substantiate claims, triggered a huge political row with the opposition raising questions on the IAF strike.
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government sticks with the statement of the foreign secretary who did not provide any figure.
Sitharaman has said: “There is no relationship between the airstrike and elections. It was based upon intelligence inputs on terrorist activities in Pakistan, to be unleashed against India. It was not a military action.”
