NEW DELHI: In a new low, a Gandhi Jayanti celebration event in Puducherry witnessed an ugly public spat between Governor Kiran Bedi and an AIADMK MLA. The argument broke out after Bedi allegedly issued instructions that the microphone of AIADMK Legislature party leader A Anbalagan be switched off. The spat broke over the duration of MLA’s speech, news agency ANI said. According to reports, during his speech, Anbalagan, slammed the Puducherry administration over a number of issues. A clip of this incident has gone viral on the social media. The video shows an angry Bedi asking the AIADMK legislator to “please go and sit”. The MLA is also seen shouting at the Lt Governor and asking Bedi to leave the programme. Later, Bedi tweeted: "An MLA’s Mike had to be turned off when he persistently rejected any request from panel of Hon'ble Ministers to limit his speech." "He rejected all appeals. He shouted back. I have seen him do this earlier too. Event was to give away awards for good work done in making Puducherry ODF," she added.
