According to the official, "On April 8, 2023, the president will make a sortie on the Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter aircraft at the Tezpur Air Force Station."
On April 7, she will launch the Gaj Utsav-2023 in Kaziranga National Park, followed by the Mount Kanchenjunga Expedition-2023 in Guwahati.
This year, the central and state departments of environment and forests will jointly organise the festival, which is held annually in the national park.
It is organised with the goals of conserving Asiatic elephants and finding solutions to the state's growing man-elephant conflict.
Around the same time, she will likewise grace the function being organised to mark the completion of 75 years of the Gauhati High Court at Guwahati, the representative said, according to PTI.
In 2009, former President Pratibha Patil became the first female head of state to fly in a warplane when she took off from the Pune air force base in a frontline Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet.
In addition, Patil, then 74 years old, set a world record by becoming the oldest woman to fly in a combat jet for 30 minutes at close to supersonic speed.
Before taking off in the Sukhoi belonging to the 30 Squadron of the Indian Air Force, a self-assured Patil waved to the crowd gathered at the airbase.
The President donned a unique "G-suit," which fighter pilots use to avoid the gravitational effect of high-speed air maneuvers.
