Reverse countdown of this govt has begun: Sonia Gandhi at CWC meeting

She said the rhetoric of Prime Minister Narendra Modi shows his "desperation" reflecting that the "reverse countdown" of the Modi government has begun.

New Delhi: While addressing the newly-constituted Congress Working Committee, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi today lashed out at the BJP government, saying the people of the country have to be rescued from a "dangerous regime" that is "compromising" with India's democracy. The CWC met for the first time under the chairmanship of Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi, In her address, Sonia Gandhi also cautioned the people about the "reign of despair and fear" heaped upon India's deprived and poor. As per sources Gandhi said that in order to save democracy the like-minded parties will have to come together leaving behind personal aspirations. She said the rhetoric of Prime Minister Narendra Modi shows his "desperation" reflecting that the "reverse countdown" of the Modi government has begun, PTI reported. We are committed to make alliances work and we are all with Congress President Rahul Gandhi in this endeavour.  We have to rescue our people from a dangerous regime that is compromising with the democracy of India, she said Congress President Rahul Gandhi, while chairing his first meeting of CWC, said that the new CWC is a bridge between past, present and future.  He asked party men to rise up and fight for India's oppressed. Former PM Manmohan Singh lashed out at PM Narendra Modi at CWC. He rejected the culture of constant "self praise and jumlas" He added: "we will support Rahul Gandhi in his onerous task of restoring India's social harmony, economic development. Leaders like Kamalnath, Chidambaram said that their battle is with RSS and they have to defeat the RSS ideology. (With inputs from PTI)
