PM Modi Hails Decision By Armed Forces To Show Solidarity With Covid-19 Warriors

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to share the news of Indian Defence forces honouring 'Corona Warriors' in a series of activities. Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat has revealed the decision in a press conference on Friday.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday welcomed the announcement by Chief of Defence Staff to have the three defense services show solidarity with 'Corona warriors'  by conducting flypast showering petals over hospitals, among other activities that aim to honor the frontline warriors in the fight against Covid-19. PM Modi took to Twitter to share the news and once again lauded the sacrifices of courageous frontline warriors. In a press conference on Friday, Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat revealed that the three services will express solidarity with corona warriors in fly-past showering petals. The helicopters from IAF and IN shall be showering flower petals on the hospitals treating Covid patients. General Rawat said, "The Air Force will conduct a flypast from Srinagar to Thiruvananthapuram and another one starting from Dibrugarh in Assam to Kutch in Gujarat. It will include both transport and fighter aircraft." Besides this, the Navy and ICG will move ships in formations at sea at select locations. While Army bands will play tunes outside Covid hospitals to express gratitude to the Corona Warriors.
