PM Modi takes the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as the second phase of immunization drive begins. PM Modi got himself vaccinated at Delhi’s premier All India Institutes of Medical Sciences. PM Modi took the jab of Bharat Biotech's COVAXIN.



“Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19. I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!” he tweeted with a picture of him receiving the shot.

 PM Modi took the first dose of COVAXIN at 6.25 minutes in the morning at AIIMS Delhi. After taking the jab PM Modi was under the doctor's supervision for 35 minutes and left for his residence at 7 am for 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. According to a report by PTI, Sister P Niveda from Puducherry administered the Covid vaccine does. The PM reached AIIMS without any security. The second dose will be given to the Prime Minister after 28 days.


India will expand its coronavirus vaccination programme today to cover people over 60 years of age and those above 45 with co-morbidities.



India is all set to begin the second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive that will cover 10 crore people across the country from today. Govt will start the vaccination of people above 60 years and individuals above 45 years of age having comorbidities against coronavirus.




People with the presence of one of the 20 co-morbidities, including diabetes and heart failure with hospital admission in the past year, will be prioritised in the next phase of the COVID-19 vaccination drive, the government said on Saturday.


PM Modi took the jab at a time when India’s active Covid cases are under control, eight states — Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh — have been a cause of concern, reporting an uptick in daily cases in the last two weeks.
