PM Modi Addresses Gujarat Rozgar Mela, Says 'Centre Is Working On Providing 10 Lakh Jobs'

PM Modi congratulated thousands of young aspirants who were awarded appointment letters for various positions at various levels.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Saturday that his government is aiming to create ten lakh jobs. In a video message for the Gujarat government's 'Rozgar Mela' (employment fair) here, he also stated that the number of government jobs for the youth will increase.

“This kind of Rozgar Melas will continue to be organised at the national and state levels in the coming months," the prime minister said.

"The Central government is working on providing ten lakh jobs, the states and Union territories are also getting associated with the campaign. The number of government jobs given to the youth will rise significantly,” he said, as per the official release issued by Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

PM Modi congratulated thousands of young aspirants who were awarded appointment letters for various positions at various levels.

He remembers starting the Rozgar Mela at the national level on the auspicious day of Dhanteras, where he delivered appointment letters to 75,000 hopefuls.

On Dhanteras Day, the Prime Minister stated that similar Rozgar Melas will be held in several states and Union Territories. Gujarat, he claims, has moved quickly, with 5000 candidates receiving appointment letters from the Gujarat Panchayat Service Board and 8000 candidates receiving appointment letters from the Gujarat Sub Inspector Recruitment Board and Lokrakshak Recruitment Board, the statement read.

The Prime Minister praised Gujarat's Chief Minister and his team for their prompt response. He stated that 10 thousand young people have just received appointment letters in Gujarat, and a target of filling 35 thousand positions in the coming year has been set.

PM Modi commended the state's New Industrial Policy with offering many prospects for employment and self-employment in Gujarat. He lauded digital platforms such as Ojas and the elimination of the interview procedure for class 3 and 4 posts, the official statement said.

He stated that with the 'Anubandham' mobile app and web platform, employment in the state is being made easier by connecting job searchers and job givers. Similarly, the Gujarat Public Service Commission's quick recruitment methodology has received national acclaim.

The Prime Minister stated that similar Rozgar Melas will be held at the national and state levels in the coming months. While the Central Government is aiming to create 10 lakh employment, when states and union territories join the campaign, the number will grow significantly.

“This will hugely reinforce the campaigns for last mile delivery and saturation of coverage of the government schemes”, he stated, as per the statement.

The Prime Minister urged these young people to fulfil their responsibilities to society and the country, emphasising their crucial role in India's march to developed nation status by 2047. He also encouraged them to keep studying and improving their skills, rather than viewing landing a job as the end of their development.

“This opens many doors for you. Doing your job with dedication will give you untold satisfaction and will open the door of growth and progress”, the Prime Minister concluded.
