More Troubles For Patanjali's Coronil; Maharashtra, Rajasthan Warn Ramdev Against Sale Of Medicine

Patanjali has claimed to provide a 100% cure of Covid-19 but the Centre asked it to stop advertising or publicising its claims till the issue is "duly examined".

New Delhi: Yog Guru Ramdev’s claimed Covid-19 cure ‘Coronil’ which comes with two more units inside a complete kit, has failed to convince several state governments including Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Maharashtra. These states are against the sale of the medicine, launched by Patanjali Ayurved, claiming a 100% recovery by it in a period of 7 days. Also Read: From Price, To Dose And Availability, Baba Ramdev Explains Why Patanjali's Coronil Is The Cure For Covid Maharashtra: Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh warned Ramdev in a late night tweet, and said Maharashtra won’t allow sale of spurious medicines. Deshmukh said that the National Institute of Medical Sciences, Jaipur will find out whether clinical trials of Patanjali’s Coronil were done at all. “An abundant warning to @yogrishiramdev that Maharashtra won't allow sale of spurious medicines,” he tweeted. Rajasthan: Rajasthan Health Minister Raghu Sharma on Wednesday also issued a warning against the propagation and endorsement any kind of medicine for coronavirus without following due norms. He said that in case the medicine is being seen sold anywhere in the state, legal action shall be taken against Ramdev. Uttarakhand: A day after Ramdev’s announcement of the cure, YS Rawat Licence Officer, Uttarakhand Ayurved Department said that a notice has been issued Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurved asking how it got permission to make the Ayurvedic formulation for treating Covid-19. Rawat said that the Ayurved Department has issued a license to Patanjali for immunity booster, cough and fever only. “The Permission is required to be taken and under the third DMRI 1954, it is not legal to make such a claim," he added. What AYUSH Ministry has said: Patanjali’s Coronil Kit that was launched by Ramdev and his associate Balkrishna , landed into troubles soon after the launch. The medicine claimed to provide a 100% cure of Covid-19 but the Centre asked his it to stop advertising or publicising its claims till the issue is "duly examined". MoS for the Union Ayush Ministry Shripad Naik on Wednesday said that his Ministry will clear its stance on pharmaceutical giant Patanjali's newly-launched ayurvedic drugs 'Coronil and Swasari' for the novel coronavirus after reviewing the report sent by it.
