Over 16 lakh cybercrime incidents have been reported in the country over the last three years, following which more than 32,000 FIRs were registered, Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday. Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said the ‘National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal’ (www.cybercrime.gov.in) allows easy reporting of all types of cyber crimes and the incidents reported on this portal are routed automatically to the respective state and UT law enforcement agency for further handling as per the provisions of law.
"As per the data maintained, more than 16 lakh cybercrime incidents have been reported and more than 32,000 FIRs have been registered from January 1, 2020, to December 7, 2022," he said replying to a written question. (PTI)
The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act registration certificates of 1,811 associations have been cancelled from 2019 to 2021, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) told Lok Sabha on Tuesday. "During the last three years from 2019 to 2021, the FCRA Registration Certificates of 1,811 associations have been cancelled under Section 14 of The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA, 2010) due to violation of provisions of the FCRA, 2010," Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said.
Whenever any inputs pertaining to the use of foreign contributions to spread terror activities are received by the MHA, Rai said, appropriate action under the FCRA and other extant laws and rules is taken. (ANI)
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that they were not given time for clarification and that is why they staged a walkout.
"We were told by the Leader of the House and Deputy Rajya Sabha Chairman that we would be given a chance for clarification but they did not give it and were not ready to listen to us. This is not good for the country," he said.
"When they did not give us clarification, all leaders of the opposition parties decided to stage a walkout. We stand together for the unity and integrity of our country, we are with our soldiers," he added.
The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm amid furore by Opposition over the fresh clash at Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang sector along the Line of Actual Control, reported news agency ANI.
Commenting on the fresh stand-off between Indian and Chinese troops along Arunachal LAC at Tawang, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that Defence Minister should show the world that India is one.
"No doubt that China has its eyes on Tawang. We've to be very alert there. I think what our Army did yesterday had the support of entire country. I told Defence Min that they should show the world that India is one and every member of every party is with Army on this," he said.
After Defence Minister's statement in Parliament over the fresh clash in Tawang, Opposition leaders staged a walkout.
Speaking in the Parliament over the fresh clash between Indian and Chinese troops along Arunachal LAC, Defence Minister Rajanth Singh said that the matter has been taken up with China through diplomatic channels.
"This matter has also been taken up with China through diplomatic channels. I want to assure the House that our forces are committed to guard our borders and ready to thwart any attempt that will be made to challenge it," he said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah condemned the uproar by Opposition over the fresh clash between Indian and Chinese troops in Arunachal's Tawang which caused the adjournment of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha till 12 noon.
"Today in Lok Sabha Opposition did not allow Question Hour to run. I condemn this act. Parliamentary Affairs Minister clearly said that the Defence Minister will make a statement on this (Tawang faceoff) in the Parliament," he said.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla remembered the fallen heroes of the 2001 Parliament attacks. Speaking in the House, he said, "We solemnly remember the cowardly attack on our Parliament on 13th Dec. We also remember the valour of the alert security personnel who foiled the attack on this symbol of democracy. We remember the supreme sacrifice made by the security personnel."
Speaking on the clash between Indian and Chinese troops at Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh along the Line of Actual Control, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary demanded answers from the government saying "we have right to know government's preparation."
"Government should make a statement on this. It has been going on. China has encroached upon our land. From Ladakh and Uttarakhand, they've reached Arunachal. We've the right to know government's preparation to tackle China's conspiracy," he said.
