Alok Kumar Mehta, a former minister in the Bihar government and a leader from Tejashwi Yadav's RJD, is in trouble with the Enforcement Directorate. The ED on Friday conducted raids at his house in a disproportionate assets case. The ED has conducted this raid in connection with a loan case. The ED raids are underway at 19 locations across India.

The case is related to a loan from Vaishali Cooperative Bank. The ED took action in connection with transactions amounting to crores of rupees. According to ABP News sources, the ED team is examining various documents at different locations. An investigation is underway to trace the end-to-end system of the transactions related to bank loans.

The ED is conducting the raids at 19 different locations linked to Alok Kumar Mehta. According to information, the ED team is conducting raids at 9 locations in Patna and Hajipur, 5 in Kolkata, 4 in Varanasi, and 1 in Delhi. The ED also raided his official and private residences in Patna.

The ED found that a scam of Rs 85 crore was being effected at Vaishali Urban Development Cooperative Bank. Three FIRs were registered in Hajipur in this case after an RBI report raised the alarm.
Alok Mehta is considered very close to Tejashwi Yadav. During the Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar, Alok Mehta was the Minister of Revenue and Land Reforms. Alok Mehta also plays an important role in the decision-making process within the RJD. Alok Mehta is currently an MLA from Ujiarpur in Samastipur.
