Bill To Replace 90-Year-Old Aircraft Act Among 6 New Bills In Parliament's Monsoon Session — Check List

The upcoming Parliament session, beginning July 22, will introduce 6 bills, including the Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak, 2024 to replace the Aircraft Act of 1934 and promote ease of doing business in aviation.

The Union government has listed six new bills for introduction in the upcoming Parliament session which is scheduled to start on Monday, including a bill to replace the 90-year-old Aircraft Act to facilitate ease of doing business in the aviation sector.

Apart from the Finance Bill, the government will also introduce 'The Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill' for consideration and passing. This proposed legislation aims to clarify and streamline the roles of different organisations involved in disaster management, according to a Lok Sabha bulletin released on Thursday.

As per PTI, the Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak, 2024 aims to replace the Aircraft Act of 1934 to provide enabling provisions for ease of doing business in the civil aviation sector.

The session, which is scheduled to begin on July 22 and will conclude on August 12, is to see Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman present the Union Budget on Tuesday, July 23.

Other bills listed for introduction and passage include the Boilers Bill to replace the pre-Independence era law, the Coffee (Promotion and Development) Bill and the Rubber (Promotion and Development) Bill.

The committee, chaired by the Speaker, also includes members such as Sudip Bandyopadhyay (TMC), P P Chaudhary (BJP), Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu (TDP), Nishikant Dubey (BJP), Gaurav Gogoi (Congress), Sanjay Jaiswal (BJP), Dileshwar Kamait (JD-U), Bhartruhari Mahtab (BJP), Dayanidhi Maran (DMK), Baijayant Panda (BJP), Arvind Sawant (Shiv Sena-UBT), Kodikunnil Suresh (Congress), Anurag Thakur (BJP), and Lalji Verma (SP).
