CISF beefs up security at Delhi airport, NCR on HIGH ALERT! Check list of airports temporarily closed
Several International flights that transit between Indian and Pakistani airspace have also been affected. Some flights returning to origin, while others appear to be seeking alternate routing.
Pakistan violates Indian Air space: Several airports across the nation including Srinagar, Jammu and Leh have been shut down for civilian air traffic shortly after an IAF jet crashed in Budgam district. This comes amid escalation of cross-Line of Control shelling between armies of India and Pakistan.
An official of the Airport Authority of India was quoted as saying that the civilian air traffic has been suspended temporarily in view of the emergency. While the official did not specify the nature of the emergency, it is believed the step was taken in view of an IAF jet crashing in Budgam district this morning. Besides, airports in Delhi, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar and Pathankot are on high alert.

Pakistan shuts flight operations Indian airline Vistara also said that due to airspace restrictions, flights to and from Amritsar, Srinagar, Chandigarh and Jammu are currently on hold. Pakistan has also stopped its domestic and international flight operations from - • Lahore • Multan • Faisalabad • Sialkot • Islamabad Pakistani citizens said that their flights had been delayed “indefinitely”.#TravelUpdate. Due to airspace restrictions, flights to and from Amritsar, Srinagar, Chandigarh and Jammu are currently on hold. Customers are requested to check flight status before commencing their journey to the airport. (1/2)
