‘Orator par excellence’: Modi, political leaders greet Sushma Swaraj on her 67th birthday

New Delhi: Leaders across political parties wished External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on her 67th birthday and prayed for her long life and good health. Wishing the Union Minister, who has donned many hats and has rich political experience, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "Greetings to Sushma Swaraj ji on her birthday. Sushma ji is one of the most remarkable leaders of our nation. She has distinguished herself as an outstanding minister and her oratory is par excellence. Her role in strengthening BJP is key. Praying for her long and healthy life."

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee tweeted: "Best wishes on your birthday Sushma Swaraj ji. Wish you good health."
Sushma Swaraj is one of the most active ministers on social media in the Narendra Modi government and has helped many distressed Indians staying abroad.
An MP from Madhya Pradesh's Vidisha constituency, Swaraj was born in Haryana's Ambala Cantt area in 1952. Her political career began in 1977 when she became MLA from Haryana.
She was first elected to the Rajya Sabha in 1990 and since then has been a member of Parliament either in the Upper House or the Lower House.
She was first appointed as Cabinet Minister in 1996 and held the post of Delhi Chief Minister for a short period in 1998. In 2009, she was Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.
