'Oppn Alliance Got Buried Under The Weight Of Its Name': Haryana CM Khattar's Dig At I.N.D.I.A

CM Khattar said his government has decided to waive off interest waivers and penalty on outstanding water bills of consumers.

New Delhi: Launching an attack on the newly-formed Opposition alliance, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the parties could not think of anything else so they named it I.N.D.I.A. (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) and now they are buried under its weight. Addressing a gathering at his 'Jan Samvad' programme in Ateli in Mahendragarh district on Friday, CM Khattar said, “Opposition parties couldn't think of anything else so they thought to keep a big name for their alliance...and they named their alliance as I.N.D.I.A and got buried under its weight...they all are useless people.”

The chief minister further said his government has decided to waive off interest waivers and penalty on outstanding water bills of consumers.

The Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department had imposed a penalty and interest ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 40,000 on those water bills which were pending for a long time. When the issue was raised before us, we decided to waive the penalty and the interest of the pending bill amount,” news agency PTI quoted CM Khattar as saying.

He further said that over 14,000 written complaints have been received on the Jan Samvad portal so far across the state, and out of them, 2,500 have been disposed of. He added that the pending complaints will be resolved soon and information on this regard would be sent to the complainant's mobile number.

According to the report, CM Khattar also inaugurated two projects – a new road from Bachini to Israna Rambas and the Bewal to Rata Kala road -- completed at a cost of Rs 7 crore from Sundrah village in Ateli block.

Speaking on this occasion, CM Khattar said the Haryana government is working hard to boost its infrastructure and healthcare facilities and several steps are being taken in this regard.

"The BJP government (at the Centre) under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is working for the upliftment of the poor. 'Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas' is the key mantra for executing any developmental project," he added.
