One Policeman Dead, Four Injured After Terrorists Hurl Grenade In J&K's Bandipora

New Delhi: One policeman died and four were injured after militants hurled a grenade in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The slain policeman has been identified as Zubair Ahmad
The militants lobbed a grenade towards the cops near Nishat park in Bandipora, PTI reported. The grenade blast was followed by firing as well.

The injured personnel were evacuated to a hospital but one of them succumbed, a police spokesman said. The condition of the other injured personnel is stable, he added.
"At about 1700hrs, terrorists hurled a grenade on a joint party of police and BSF in Bandipora resulting in martyrdom of one police personnel and injuries to four other police personnel," PTI quoted the spokesman as saying.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of IPC. Investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this terror, the spokesman said.
He said the area has been cordoned off and a search operation is in progress to trace the attackers.
On Monday, terrorists attacked a bunker of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in the Chapargund area of Ganderbal district by throwing a grenade. Fortunately, this grenade did not hit the bunker and fell on the road and exploded. There was no casualty in this accident.
