Now, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram Tests Positive For Covid-19
The son of former finance minister P Chidambaram also took to micro-blogging site to break the news about his symptoms saying it is mild and he has gone into self-isolation on medical advice.
New Delhi: After Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were found to be infected with novel Coronavirus infection, it is now Congress MP Karti Chidambaram who has been confirmed positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
The son of former finance minister P Chidambaram also took to micro-blogging site to break the news about his symptoms saying it is mild and he has gone into self-isolation on medical advice. Karti Chidambaram was elected to Lok Sabha from Sivaganga in Tamil Nadu in 2019.
“I have just tested positive for #Covid. My symptoms are mild and as per medical advice I am under home quarantine. I would urge all those who have recently been in contact with me to follow medical protocol,” Karti tweeted.
The news of the Karnataka Chief Minister being infected with the deadly disease has come hours after Union Home Minister Amit Shah was found to be infected with novel Coronavirus infection on Sunday.
Karnataka CM also announced on Twitter and shared the news. His daughter, BY Padmavati, is also reported to have contracted the disease.
Besides, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is among the top brass to have tested positive for the Covid-19 infection. The leader had urged people not to hide symptoms and come forward for testing to ensure timely treatment.
As soon as the news broke out, people from all walks of life including politicians, leaders, celebrities poured in wishes for the speedy recovery of the leaders.
