Noida Twin Towers Demolition: 400 Policemen Present At Spot, Beds Reserved In Three Hospitals

The officer said that ahead of the demolition, two societies, including 40 towers are being fully evacuated. An approximate 4,000 people, along with their 3,100 cars are also going to be evacuated.

New Delhi: Over 400 civil police personnel have been deployed to manage the security and traffic during the demolition of Noida’s Supertech twin towers on Sunday, news agency ANI reported.

Apart from police personnel, eight ambulances, four fire tenders, and NDRF have been requested to be present on spot.

“Over 400 civil police personnel to be present at spot. NDRF requested. 8 ambulances, 4 fire tenders to be on spot. For contingency beds reserved in 3 hospitals. Green corridor to be made if required,” ANI quoted DCP Central, Rajesh S, as saying.

The officer said that ahead of the demolition, two societies, including 40 towers are being fully evacuated. An approximate four thousand people, along with their 3100 cars are also going to be evacuated. A help desk will be installed outside the society by evening to felicitate the society members.

“Traffic personnel posted to avoid traffic issues. Residents have been asked to adhere to deadline and vacate by 7am on Sunday. Limited number of guards to be allowed in society for security. They too will leave sharp at 1.45pm before blast at 2.30pm,” the DCP said, adding, “Expressway to be closed for a minimum amount of time of about 1 hour between 2pm- 3pm.”

It is to be noted that Supertech's illegal twin towers in Noida's Sector 93A are to be razed at 2.30 pm on Sunday, August 28, following Supreme Court orders.

Taller than Delhi's Qutub Minar, it will become India's tallest structures to be safely demolished by implosion technique. On August 31 last year, the Supreme Court had ordered the demolition of the twin towers for violation of building norms.

There are over 900 flats in these two towers. The towers are part of Supertech's Emerald Court project. Both towers together cover an area of around 7.5 lakh square feet.
