'Such Words Should Not Have Been Used...': I.N.D.I.A Ally Congress Criticises Nitish Kumar For Sex-Ed Remark
Reacting to Nitish Kumar's remarks, Congress leader Chidambaram said that such words should not be used anywhere.
The Congress criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday for his comments in the state assembly on the importance of women in sex education. Speaking on the matter, Congress leader P Chidambaram said, "I don't think such words should have been used anywhere in the country." P Chidambaram said, "Mr Nitish Kumar has profusely apologised both inside the House and outside the House...Speaking personally, I don't think such words should have been used anywhere in the country," as quoted by the news agency ANI.

Nitish Kumar has been facing the heat for seeking to describe a matrimonial union in a "crass manner" to explain the importance of women's education for population control during a discussion in the Bihar Assembly.
Reacting to Nitish Kumar's remark, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Bansuri Swaraj said, "The statement that was given by Nitish Kumar is unforgivable... The BJP's ideology is to worship women... On the other hand, Bihar CM forgot that he is a veteran in Indian politics and is sitting CM...He made a very derogatory remark," as quoted by ANI.

Earlier in the day, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan lashed out at Nitish Kumar over his remarks and said that he does not have any right to be the CM of Bihar. He further said that an apology would not work now and that he should leave the position. "A person who insults women like this has no right to be a CM. He should leave the position, apologising won't work," Chouhan said.
