NIA Arrests 9 Al-Qaeda Operatives In West Bengal And Kerala, Terror Attack Busted; Explosives & Weapons Seized
The National Investigation Agency has arrested 9 Al-Qaeda operatives. The agency has seized explosives, arms, and Jihadi literature from their possession. The 9 arrested terrorists will be produced before the court for further probe.

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency has busted the Al-Qaeda module in Murshidabad in West Bengal and Ernakulam in Kerala. The agency has also arrested 9 Al-Qaeda operatives after the raids conducted in Murshidabad and Kerala.
NIA had learned about an inter-state module of Al-Qaeda operatives at various locations in India including West-Bengal and Kerala. The agency has also informed that a large number of incriminating materials including digital devices, documents, jihadi literature, sharp weapons, country-made firearms, a locally fabricated body armour, articles, and literature used for making home-made explosive devices have been seized from their possession. The NIA said, "As per the preliminary investigation, these individuals were radicalised by Pakistan-based Al-Qaeda terrorists on social media and were motivated to undertake attacks at multiple places including the National Capital Region." "For this purpose, the module was actively indulging in fundraising and a few members of the gang were planning to travel to New Delhi to procure arms and ammunition. These arrests have pre-empted possible terrorist attacks in various parts of the country."
