'Dying For The Last Seven Days': Kamal Nath's Video On 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' Goes Viral

The BJP reacted to the video, accusing Rahul Gandhi of making physically incapable people walk to make his Bharat Jodo Yatra a success.

A video of former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath purportedly speaking about the gruelling schedule of the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra has gone viral. In the video, Nath can be heard complaining of Gandhi's insistence on walking at least 24 kilometres daily as part of the march and how they were drained due to it. 

Nath made the remarks when he had gone to meet Pandit Pradeep Mishra of Sehore in Indore on Tuesday.

"Hum toh saat din se mar rahe hain. Do principles hain - subah 6 baje se chalna aur ek din mein 24 km se kam nahi chalna. (We've been dying for the last seven days...There are only two guiding principles -- start marching at 6 am and walk at least 24 km a day)," Nath is heard saying in the video.

The BJP has taken this opportunity to taunt the Congress over its 'Bharat Jodo Yatra'. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said: “Rahul Gandhi's hypocrisy towards religion and the tribal society has been revealed by Kamal Nath. I appeal to Rahul baba that for the success of your event, do not force your people who are physically incapable 'scapegoats'.”

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had said that no one was feeling tired. During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi, while addressing every gathering has been saying that even after travelling more than 2,000 km, he is not tired. “Not just me, none of the leaders and workers involved in the yatra is feeling tired,” he said. Kamal Nath's statement at such a time seemed to undermine Rahul Gandhi’s confidence in the Yatra and Congress leaders.
