Mumbai: A highly tragic incident has come to light where a 44 year-old woman in Mumbai jumped from her 12th-floor apartment with her minor son. The incident took place in Nahare Amrit Shakti Residential complex in Chandivali on Monday.

The woman left behind a note accusing her neighbours of harassing her. On the basis of recovered suicide note, police have filed a case of abetment to suicide against the accused neighbour. So far, no arrests have been made in the case.

According to police, the woman and her husband Sarat Mulukutla had  shifted to the new rented apartment on April 10. Since then, the accused family had disputes with Sarat Mulukutla and his wife. The accused family even filed a a complaint with the housing society alleging that couple's son used to make a lot of noise while playing.

Reports say that Reshma's husband had gone to Varanasi to take care of his parents who were infected with Covid-19. While his parents later died, Mulukutla too got infected and succumbed to the deadly disease.

Elaborating her pain after loosing husband, Reshma in a Facebook post on May 30 wrote, "He was a man in a million! Completely unaware of the effect his looks and voice had on women, or the keenness of his intellect! Naturally humble, he was always ready to poke fun at himself as much as those around him.  He was all about action over words. If he was on your side, the whole world could be against you and it wouldn’t matter. He didn’t suffer fools or hypocrites, and detested duplicity of any sort. With him, what you saw was what you got."

She went on to decribe the rough days when her husband was infected with Coronavirus and continued fight for about three weeks in hospital.

"Losing him feels like all my organs are being slowly ripped out all day long.  Yet, I’ll happily choose this pain again if it means being able to spend even a few minutes with him. Sarat’s death is ample evidence that there is no benevolent God watching over us. That being a good person is no guarantee that you will not be felled by Fate. Yet I’d like to believe the religious stories. I’d like to believe there is an afterlife where we can be with him again," the Facebook post read.
