'Money Rain' In Gujarat Village As Ex-Sarpanch Showers Notes Worth Lakhs At Nephew's Wedding. Watch

A wedding in Gujarat became a shocking sight for middle-class Indians when notes worth lakhs were thrown across the terraces. Watch the video here.

A former village sarpanch in Gujarat's Mehsana district showered cash on a mob assembled in front of his residence.

The ex-sarpanch of Agol village in Gujarat's Kekri tehsil was observed showering Rs 500 rupee notes on a mob gathered beneath the house. According to accounts, money was thrown as part of a wedding celebration for Agol sarpanch Karim Yadav's nephew, Razak.

The video shows family strewing notes ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 500 from the balcony and terrace. Guests and attendees were also observed taking notes while dancing to the music.

Razak, previous Sarpanch Karim Yadav's nephew, was on a wedding procession in the village when the former sarpanch and his family members went to the rooftop and showered money on everybody gathered to witness the celebrations.

The video, which has now gone viral on social media sites, shows the former sarpanch and his family members pouring Rs 500 notes on those gathered to celebrate. The footage shows them showering money from the house's rooftop.

Meanwhile, in the background, the Bollywood song "Azeem-O-Shaan Shehenshah" from Jodha Akbar is playing.

While the video stunned many on social media, showering notes and jewellery on special occasions is a routine occurrence in Gujarat. Another video of the incident from Gujarat's Valsad surfaced a few years ago, in which roughly Rs 50 lakh was thrown on artists performing at a charity event, as per reports.

In the recent past, a man in Bengaluru obstructed traffic on a flyover by throwing money at passersby and onto the crowd below in the city's bustling market area, according to media reports.

Passing cars' cell phones captured footage of a man in a coat and slacks walking on the flyover while wearing a wall clock around his neck and flinging big quantities of cash in the air.

The currency notes had a denomination of ten. According to witnesses who were present at the time of the incident, he allegedly flung Rs 3,000 notes around, Business Today reported.
