Centre Releases Revised Guidelines For Covid Patient Management

India Records Single Day Spike Of More Than 1,000 New Covid Cases:

According to Union health ministry data updated on Sunday, India recorded a single-day spike of more than 1,000 new Covid-19 cases after 129 days, while active cases increased to 5,915.

A total of 1,071 new cases were reported throughout the county in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 5,30,802 with three new fatalities — one each in Rajasthan and Maharashtra, and one reconciled in Kerala.

The infection tally stands at 4.46 crore, according to ministry figures updated at 8 am (4,46,95,420).

The active cases now account for 0.01 percent of all cases, with a nationwide Covid-19 recovery rate of 98.8 percent.

According to the data, the number of patients who have recovered from the disease has risen to 4,41,58,703, with a case fatality rate of 1.19 percent. According to the ministry's website, the country has received 220.65 crore doses of Covid vaccine as part of the nationwide coronavirus vaccination drive.

Jharkhand Reports Five Fresh Cases Of COVID-19 On Sunday:

Jharkhand reported two new cases of H3N2 influenza, as well as five new cases of COVID-19, for the first time on Sunday, news agency PTI reported citing a health department official.

A 68-year-old woman who was admitted to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) in Jamshedpur on Thursday with symptoms of cold and fever tested positive for influenza virus H3N2 on Saturday, according to the official.

Dr Jujhar Manjhi, Civil Surgeon of East Singhbhum district, confirmed the report, saying the person was confined in an isolation unit and is being monitored. He stated that the victim had no prior travel history.

With the addition of new cases, Jharkhand's coronavirus caseload has risen to 4,42,589 since the disease's outbreak. So far, 4,37,247 people have been cured of the disease, while 5,332 have died as a result of the infection.

According to the bulletin, Jharkhand has tested 926 samples for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

However, some doctors claimed that increasing testing would increase the number of cases.
