Fire At Satpura Bhawan In Bhopal

In a similar incident, a major fire broke out last year at the Satpura Bhawan in Bhopal which houses various offices of the Madhya Pradesh government.  The fire that started from the third floor of the building spread to the sixth floor of the building and the terrace. It was reportedly visible from different parts of the city as well.

After the incident, former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked the Indian Air Force to help in the firefighting operations which continued through the night.

In response to his request, fire tenders from the Indian Army, Airport Authority of India, BHEL, BPCL, Indian Oil Corporation, and Mandideep and Raisen reached the spot to douse the fire. The blaze had destroyed furniture and several documents of various departments. Around 30-40 tankers and 22 fire tenders were involved in the firefighting operation. However, no casualties were reported as the staff immediately rushed out of the office premises.

Satpura Bhawan is located on a hill in front of the state government secretariat Vallabh Bhawan, where a massive fire broke out today.
